SAINT ESSYLT :- This South American SAINT LINE vessel came under quarantine jurisdiction when she arrived at the Port of Fremantle on the 31st March from Bombay India.
There had been already one death from smallpox, one day out from arrival her at Fremantle, that being, the Second Officer, Alan Brightwell, who contacted the disease while the vessel was in Bombay, and he was buried at sea.
